REHDA Bulletin on Penang Property (May 2009)


The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association of Malaysia (REHDA) has a feature on Penang Property in its bulletin from May 2009.
Penang has the highest population density in Malaysia with 2,031.74 people per square kilometer on the island and 865.99 people per square kilometer on the mainland.
Striking features of Penang include:
  • Top 10 Most Liveable Cities in Asia – George Town ranked 10th in the annual Location Ratings Survey by ECA International as one of the preferred Asian location for Europeans to work and live in because of the low cost and comfortable living with the facilities of developed cities.
  • The United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) Industrial Development Report 2009 rated Penang among the top 10 dynamic industrial locations – good indicator for Penang to be a strategic locational choice for investment & talents.
  • Honoured as the 1st state to ‘roll out’ the MSC Cyber City outside the Multimedia Super Corridor.
  • Identified as the Hub for the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER).
  • The declaration of George Town as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
